You can’t read the Healing Spell until July 1st but you can get a sneak peek by watching
the new and fabulous book trailer!!

To help more people see this trailer and get excited about The Healing Spell I’m holding a VERY COOL contest.

And it's easy peasy. Just email the trailer to all the people in your address book, blog about it, Tweet about it, Facebook about it, Goodreads about it.

On July 15th post your results (how many times you emailed the trailer, blogged about it, Tweeted it, and wrote about it on Facebook), along with your name and email address as a comment on this blog.

The three people with the highest results win this

fabulous prize package.

 Help me make history!

My crazy goal is to get 10,000 views of the trailer!!!!!!

The trailer is a MAJOR labor of love. The original music, the sound effects, the Cajun girl voice-over, the special swamp sounds, the recording, and the full production of the trailer is all done by the completely awesome and amazing people at Nua Music. They are so talented and you definitely want them for your book trailer! Go to their Contact Page on the website and call up Cindy-Rae or Bet to start YOUR trailer today!

The prize package contains:

1 Autographed copy of The Healing Spell!

1 Autographed copy of The Last Snake Runner!

1 copy of a Barbara O'Connor book - my favorite southern middle-grade writer! (Your Choice of Greetings from Nowhere or How To Steal a Dog or The Small Adventure of Popeye and Elvis)

1 Super Soft and Very Cute T-Baby Swamp Gator From Stuffed Safari

1 Giant bag of M&Ms

1 Box of Twizzlers

The contest runs from TODAY, June 28th to Thursday, July 15th so start emailing, blogging, Tweeting, and writing on Facebook!

Thank you, thank you for helping me spread the word!
I've been working on this novel for 7 years and I wasn't sure it would ever become a real book so this is a day of pure joy!

What a gorgeous trailer! I was captivated by the girl's voice. Job well done! Off to share with others...

Thanks, Angie! I would *love* to get the book picked up by an audio company that used this gal for the voice. It's out on submission right now. (Is your book coming out in audio?)

Seven years??! WOW. I remember you talking about traveling somewhere to make the trailer for this book, and the result is nothing short of amazing. I loved the voice of the trailer -- so well done -- and the narrative. You have a winner here!

I'll tweet about this (jeniw) and post a link on LiveJournal, but no need to include me in the contest. I'm just happy to spread the word! Jeni

THANKS, Jeni!!!! You are so kind and generous! I really appreciate it. I took the swamp and bayou and canoe and girl pictures on my last two trips to Louisiana - both last year, spring and fall.

Thanks so much, Joan! I really appreciate it! (I enjoyed reading your blog post yesterday, too, about what's been happening in your life, but am trying to keep up with about 200 emails lately and get ready to leave tomorrow for Utah . . . ) :-)

What a wonderful trailer, Kimberely. I've begun getting back into MG reading because of my internship and I am SO excited for THS. You've worked your butt off, so has your agent and editor, and you deserve all the best for it. Can't wait for July 1st!!

Gosh, thanks so much, Rachel. MG rocks! Do you know about the new MG blog/website that was just started (by moi and a bunch of other writers)? FromtheMixedUpFiles.com. MUST reading! :-)

I really appreciate your very sweet kudos and congrats. It makes me teary-eyed.

Stunning Trailer

I'll help spread the word =)

I loved the trailer -- did you have to do all the backgroun work and get the girl in the voice-over?
She reminded me a little of Natalie Portman - in the Walmart Baby movie [ I'm blanking on the title.]

Re: Stunning Trailer
Thanks SO much, Lizanne! I really appreciate it. I took about half the pictures myself and wrote the script, but NUA MUSIC DESIGN got the voice-over girl, recorded her, wrote the original music, sound design and did all the production work. They are fantastic to work with and so talented. Let me know if you want their contact info. They've just done a MAJOR movie-making software upgrade and are rarin' to make more trailers.

And Scholastic loves it so much they are offering a free download of the full 4 minute "Treater Woman" song on their website for my book's launch tomorrow. I'm psyched!
